Electriconic List

I have an ongoing list that I can’t seem to tackle… not sure what is so hard about it. Lightbulbs for christ’s sakes. I thought about my computer today… woke up and used it before work: 9:00-9:30, took it to work: 10:00-6:30, watched dvd (garden state, kind of suck) 8:00-10:00, try to work on shit: 10:30-2:00am. And I will turn it on again in about 8 hours. Kind of depressing.

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday, there was nothing to do. Me, Gino, and Peter sat around staring at each other until around 1am. I listened to some ska music. Finally I went to get a milkshake with Kelly, then I ran into some people on the way home and had a beer. Saturday I could not wake up, I was tired as soon as my eyes opened. I think I need more excercise. More than zero anyhow. The weather was real nice and even though I have a couple projects I need to work on, I decided I needed to drink beer all day and watch tv. So I did that, fell asleep, and didn’t make it out until midnight again. This time I went to two bars. Really cool.

I watched the super bowl over at my old apartment on Hope St. Matt Littlejohn cooked lots of little meat things and beans. The highlight was everyone doing the super bowl shuffle at halftime. Also this girls mother was there from virginia and she was partying big time. I imagine she is having a bloody mary about now.

Basically, I did nothing productive. Now, I go to work.

Beds Are For Sleeping

… not looking at your computer. I think since I was sick, and spent so much time in bed, my brain was re-programmed to think I should just be hanging out when I am supposed to be sleeping. It is now 4am and I actually have to get up for work tommorrow. Last night was the first night I actually felt better. In honor of that I went out and got drunk on rot-gut whiskey. After our 2nd round of whiskey/beer combo special, the bartender looked at us and Jennie waived and shook her head to indicate “no more.” So he poured another round. My head hurt all day.

Otherwise I have been very civil, last night me and Kelly cooked up a dip platter and a salad, then Peter rented Kangaroo Jack (my suggestion, slightly funny in an ironic way but not enough to bother) and Party Monster (completely terrible). Tonight Willow came over and cooked salmon and we all sat around the table and had a real dinner and drank wine. Hopefully the cooking trend continues—I am hungry.

Weekend Wrap Up

Well, this should be pretty short as I have been in bed since Friday. . . my roommate Gino had a big birthday party at our house. I was sober, so it wasn’t too exciting for me. I kept trying to count how many people were there… I think I got up to 80 once. Sunday afternoon I watched the Aviator, super long. It was interesting enough, but there is no real point to it other than Howard Hughes had a lot of shit going on and he was a little crazy.

as i type this i am nearly reaching my 24th hour in bed. i am sick with some sort of chest infection. well i worked a couple of days this week. i hate working. i got some good responses to the new drawings i made. last night i went to this mexico city record label showcase, the music was crazy. but it was super loud and in a tiny gallery. my ears still hurt. it was supposed to be dance music but for whatever reason it only inspired people to take pictures with digital cameras. the whole front of the audience was people taking pictures… i don’t understand peoples obsession with documenting everything all the time. at the very least just take a couple pictures and put the thing away. why go out if you are going to watch entire events through you viewfinder, which is essentially a 2 inch television as far as i am concerned.

i hope that robotussin is the cure to what ails me.

Hi.

Friday I went to a show at this new venue around the corner. So new it isn’t finished and doesn’t have a name… The stage was sent on top of a stack of sheetrock and the bathroom was on a platform near the front, maybe 4 steps up, and it was just a toilet (no seat) and a tarp around it, with a halogen light in there. Pretty weird, but the place was packed–which was good cause there was no heat either. So I am there minding my own business, binge drikning, there is a really terrible band playing. Then a more interesting band. Then the last two were hardcore bands, and since I was kind of near the front anyhow I ended up in the mosh pitting. It was kind of fun and warmer doing that than just standing there, so I took part. However my face and neck were pretty sore the next day, on top of the usual bumpin of the forehead. Saturday it snowed a lot, so I stayed in. Actually I drove my car around the block (on the way to my gf’s), decided it was stupid to drive and on the way back into the parking lot got my car stuck. I felt pretty dumb. Last night I watched the movie Dogville and it was pretty painful to watch. I asked Peter to rent Euro Trip and he comes back with Dogville. I suppose I will have to get membership to the video place.

Still cold. Today I went outside to get the mail. . . that is it. I also watched Oprah and baked 3 dozen cookies. I told that to this friend of mine on IM today and he said “that is wierd” — i guess so. I suppose I should get a job, or sell my car. I need money. I have to get busy on some drawings for this sketchel thing, I am thinking about recycling some old sketches and mixing them up, then using brooke’s sewing machine to sew them all together. We will see how that goes. I guess it has to work as I have no other plan.

I hope I have a fun weekend. I have been thinking about work and money too much lately. Kills me creatively.

Everyone is talking about how cold it is. Man, it is really cold! Like 15 degrees or something. Today I made a list of things to do, and it worked pretty well.

x Saline
x Fix Glasses
x Pay Bills
x Stamps

The other night I rented some videos, White Chicks–exactly as expected, Mean Girls–a little better than expected (watch with girls), Fishing With John–pretty good.

Last night me and Peter (August) went to the midnight pajama jam, except it was the midnight panini jam this week. It was really funny.

They are filming a Volvo commercial down the street today.

I found a hair in my slice of chicken pizza.

It is pretty cold.

Dear blog, what a crazy night i had last night, i watched this movie with val kilmer called spartan it was quite the action adventure thriller. i don’t want to spoil it, but he doesn’t die at the end. then i watched some more tv and then i went to a couple of bars. Only in New York!!! that is right television and beer. The culture is overwhelming sometimes.

If you find that you are lagging in conversation at the dinner table with your family, get a regular bowl (any vessel will do) and fill it with suggestion topics. These little slips of paper are quite useful and at times magical. Be sure to promote positivity in your suggestions, stay away from topics of sexual nature and/or bathroom humor.

Things I worry about:
-Will my favorite bar change when those luxury condos get finished?
-Is it healthy to be home alone all day with little or no human contact?
-Will I ever get sick of pizza?

Today I am wearing some shoes I bought off the net:
asics asics

and a grey hoodie, a shirt from wal-mart that has a big monster truck on it that and says UNSTOPPABLE in lettering that looks like diamond plate. and some old jeans that should be retired. They are getting pretty holy. praise god.

Would you like to go to a party with a motivational speaker? How about a motivational stripper? That is some next level shit.

good night, matt.
